Reflection

Week 1:

The first week of school? Going back after a while was difficult especially leaving my parent's sides and coming back to the U.S. and getting used to the time zone. I was yet excited to see the new way of university or should I say the real way and how it should be?! In-person!!!!

I loved my classes. It was definitely difficult to get used to it and I am still working on getting accustomed to the new time zone and a new routine but with a bit of hard work and dedication, anything is possible!

I worked the front desk as well as working the welcome week! I loved trying to get students to come to play the games and just recruiting them for student government. I love doing that as I was the president of student government in the past year. I am still willing to help the current board to get used to their roles and I will help to the best of my ability.

Week 2:

I am definitely more used to the time and I have a timely routine! I wake up at 6 and drink my coffee before heading to the university. It is very beneficial to have a set plan and schedule for my days. President Pinto announced the vaccine mandate and personally, I am really happy with the news. With that being said, when working the welcome desk, I had to answer many calls in regards to that. People were asking questions and I loved helping them and assisting them to the answer. On Wednesday, I also gave a tour for Kelsi Groin. There were over 20 people but I made sure everyone maintained the social distancing and such. I also met someone who was Persian like me which I found very cool and interesting. I have also asked my friends to sign up for the blood donation and COVID testing that will happen on campus. Overall, this week was easier than the first week and I am so happy to see what the third week has for us.

Week 3:

It's been definitely a memorable week, to say the least. I do not know if this is in a positive sense or a negative sense. I got COVID on Monday of this week and I have been in self-isolation ever since. As a person with COVID, we know that they lack energy and do not do things most people do. All I have done is sleeping and eating by myself and it truly hits you when you lose your health privileges. We usually think being healthy is our right but in reality, it's nothing but a privilege. While I was down here, I did a lot of introspection. I prayed for those who were really sick with COVID and other diseases. I now know, we need to be more mindful and appreciative of our health.

After I come out of self-isolation, I will have a lot of things to do. I will have to catch things back up from school, work on my physical and mental health, and last but most importantly, take over and be a better ambassador.

In hopes of a great week for me and my fellow ambassadors... <3

Week 4:

Wow... Another week has passed, yet I have been at home sick with COVID. It is okay to not be okay. I have missed some assignments and I have not been able to help my fellow ambassadors. I am going to come back stronger. I have gained 10 pounds, I have had hair loss due to COVID but it is ok... At the end of the day, I remember that this will make me stronger. I will come back with more motivation for school and also my important position as the face of the school and a good role model.
I do not have much to reflect on besides this for this week, but be on the lookout for the great start of the next week!

WOOOHOOO :)

Week 5:

Like I said in the last week's reflection, I will start this week strong and I will be as involved as I can! I was so excited to be back on campus and despite having lots of responsibility as a student, I also had a lot going on as the student ambassador. I had signed up for 3 events on Wednesday, yet I managed to do well in them. On Wednesday, I did my first in-classroom visit with our dear Hannah Thompson, and I thought we did well! I cannot wait to reach out to her for her inputs and recommendations for me to improve. I also am excited for next week, as I have signed up for wonderful events and it will be a busier week than this week but I love my position!

Furthermore, I am almost caught up with my missing assignments and I am so happy that everyone at UCBA is so considerate and caring of my situation!

and that is why I chose UCBA!

Week 6:

Here's to a busy week! Loved it!!! It was absolutely amazing! On Monday, I met the provost of the University of Cincinnati! It was an absolute honor as he shared his top 3 goals for us students. On Wednesday, my busiest day, I went to my welcome desk shift and also gave perspective tours. Pavel took a video of me giving a tour so we can post that on social media for UC Blue Ash. On Thursday, I met up with Ruthie to go over the social media takeover. We went over the plan and what things I need to hit in. She was a big help, along with Pete Bender. On Friday, I shared with the members of the community and the students heart felting stories from Latinx immigrants and immigrants from other countries including myself. It was definitely interesting to hear everyone's different stories. It gave us input and an idea of how other people's lives are. Not exactly everything but just a small sampler...

Big day... Saturday! The open house was truly wonderful with different students and Dear Dean Lightner! I enjoyed every second and taking over the UC Blue Ash media. I also got to meet the Bearcat for the first time!

What a week truly :) I love keeping busy and just being able to help staff with the different events!

P.S. next week on Tuesday I will be in my meeting for the ground committee woohoooo!!!!!!

week 7:

I would like to start this week's reflection by apologizing yet, appreciating the ambassador interns for being very lenient and nice to us. We, ambassadors, make a lot of mistakes and just need accommodations at times and they are always helpful and accommodate to our needs just like Olivia fixing the schedule to the best of her ability with people's availability. Another one was me working on Monday. I was supposed to work the one-stop office and honestly, I do need the hour but I had to go to the hospital for blood work. I was diagnosed with ITP on Sunday so I was really worried as she had asked me to go to the hospital. I am all good but I appreciate Hariph's quick response and change in the schedule. I worked for the welcome desk and tour as always on Wednesday. I am excited this week we can go on our fall break! I will come back brighter and happier.

Week 8:

Busy week? Yes indeed! It's the midterm week and honestly, I can not believe that. Two months have passed and we only have another two months left of the semester? Totally crazy  I hope I am doing well and I am trying my hardest to get as many hours as possible. I talked to Issac who is the current president of student government, and I will be officially starting my duties as the student government liaison. I really do hope next week I am feeling less stressed but we will see :(

Week 9:

I thought this week I would have been less stressed and this blog would have been happier and livelier but unfortunately, it's not. Another week and another set of responsibilities and its own stress. I had 3 midterms this week back to back. Later, this Wednesday was the craziest day. I worked 7 hours JUST Wednesday. It was a lot because I woke up at 4 am Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so overall it was hard to manage my time and responsibilities. I will be needing to do more time management and be on top of my hours. Another thing that caught me off guard was the fact that I am only in my 37 hours and not 50. I do not have much time so I will need to do more managing.
I promise next week, it will be better and no stress :) WOOHOOO

Week 10:

After I realized I don't have many hours, I told myself its time to pick it up a bit and do more work. Here I am doing more things on campus and getting more involved. I am so happy because last week and this week I worked a good amount at school! This week was also the open house and you know, it was a long day Wednesday but it sure was successful! I am beyond happy and I also got a lot of hours for it! I am just a bit worried about school work and catching up. I know it's the end of the semester and everyone is freaking out but we need to be positive and just keep going. We don't have much left and I do see the light at the end of this tunnel!

Week 11:

As we are coming close to the end of the semester, we are looking towards the 100 hours of ambassadors and also the SOL application. I would have loved to apply but I genuinely do not know if I will be in Ohio. On the brighter side, within a month, I got to bring my house from 40 to 67 hours and I am very proud of myself. I worked hard for it and I want to make the team proud. I would love to work my way up to the ambassador of the week and also the honor student of the year. I genuinely hope I can make that happen and I will ask Chris about the details. I talked to Issac in regards to student government and how to train the executive officers even more. I am excited to take more initiative and take on responsibilities.

Week 12:

We definitely are reaching the end and that is truly scary. This means we need to reach 100 hours and my mom has been asking me to come to Germany. I am still confused on whether I should do it or not but we will see. There was a mistake in the scheduling this week and when I asked my professor to leave 10 minutes earlier to work the event, she yelled at me in front of another class, and to be blunt, it was one of the most embarrassing things had to face. I survived it, however. I am also confused as to why there are no tours this week but it is ok! I hope everyone has had a great day off for Veteran's Day. I rested this whole weekend because I got sinusitis with pneumonia so breathing was very difficult.

Week 13:

Last week I was very sick and I was not able to meet up with Olivia for my 1:1 but I have reached out to her in that regard. Furthermore, there was a last-minute request by Madison Jones but there were technical difficulties and I was not able to get into the room... I guess things do happen in this era... I am still contemplating whether I will be in Europe this holiday or not. It is also crazy because next week is thanksgiving. I am very excited but things are really coming to an end. I am excited for the new ambassadors next semester and I would like to help them out if they are new. We shall see how things will turn out.

Week 14:

It's week fourteen and ahhhh.. I don't even know  I am very stressed because as my professor explained it, it's like when you are putting your trays in place and you will come to a stop, almost... The airplane is reaching its destination and I cannot wait!

I want to go and see my family so bad during the holidays and I am excited!

although we shouldn't really celebrate Thanksgiving, I like this time of the year because I get with my family and it's just holly and jolly time!

I really hope everyone has food and a great holiday season!

I cannot wait for December 3rd! I want to see my fellow ambassadors before I go away for a month!

Week 15:

THAT'S ITTTTT!!! LAST week omg I can not believe it!!!!!

I WISH YOU ALL THE BESTTTT
